It is exciting going abroad whether it is for a holiday, a trip of a lifetime or for work. However it is important to know the health implications of your travel destination. At the current time, guidance for travelling during the covid-19 pandemic changes frequently, making it essential that you monitor the FCO advice for your chosen destination in regards to the entry requirements and ongoing restrictions.
The Church Street Travel Clinic is run by our Practice Nursing Team, who can provide travel advice, immunisations and signpost you to malaria tablets if needed.
We advise that you arrange an appointment with a practice nurse approximately 6 months before you travel for “package type” holidays and 3 months prior for complex itineraries/remote destinations.
Please bring details of your departure date, destination and type of accommodation with your appointment, along with any immunisation records that you may hold at home.
The General Travel Advice leaflet will provide you with some useful information to help you stay healthy on your trip. Please also read the COVID-19 Travel Advice Leaflet with information specifically related to travelling during the pandemic.
Do I have to pay for immunisations?
We provide the NHS travel vaccinations, namely Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, Cholera. You will need to attend a private travel clinic for any other immunisations.
